RP board is dead

True RPing is really long.

Forum RPing is really hard to do as well, because of time differences and when people log on. I mean i'm sure many people would want to RP together when everyone's online and such.

Take D&D, it takes hours on end just to get to level 2 lol. Plus, let's say you want to pokemon rp, how do you find out if someone misses or hits? (needs a dice in real RP games or a random number generator) Text RP games are usually hard to do without a roll function. Now, if there's a roll function for forums, that would help alot. (like /roll and the # appears in the upper left of the post or something and the post can't be edited.) but that won't happen lol.

plus the person in charge needs to know exactly how to be the "RP master" (DM in D&D) aka the guy who does the story and sets up the bad guys and such.

Besides, RP doesn't only mean "adventure" it means "Role-Playing" as in playing a role. Anything is possible really lol

people keep doing things like writing like a playscript, or breaking the fourth wall, or not being online enough
Big RPs need a forum to do RPs in, not just a board in a forum which has other stuff keeping people occupied

when people post a small reply in an rp, a lot of the time, you have to post a small reply back cos there isnt much to reply too! oi vei
but yes, if an rp could be done so well, it would be so great
its why RPs with just 2 people go so well cos its monitored so well cos of just two people

no i was just saying, that when just two people RP together with noone else, its easier to handle cos there is less trouble like the trouble everyone has been talking about on this page xD
so yeah, getting a big proper rp is gonna be hard to do, cos of all teh people

The problem is that those private rps people will be picky on who to pick and if they dont get picked, the person will lose their interest in rping or such. Kind of a bad side.

Yeah, but you got to admit, there are some times where you can be on a forum RP for like an hour.  Like in the PWRPs.  We were active on that thing till like, 3 people went to sleep (There were four people in the RP XD).  Plus, this is a little off topic but I love your new Sig Aryeh XD!

anywayzz.... Pokemon War is probably the best RP we have because it hasnt broken the fourth wall yet.  We need to have proper RPs (which will be hard to keep going), and we have to keep War RP as it's the only thing keeping the RP board alive atm

I know my post is a bit late, but the RP board isn't dead. Like I just saw in this thread. "Make an RP with a story line to keep people interested." I don't mean to brag, but I think I did a while ago. It was one of the few succesful RPs before the RP board. It was called WarLords and it had 2 threads that together, summed up to over 120 pages. I just started a revival and now, in a matter of days, we have two threads again, soon to be 3 or 4, totaling to about 10-12 pages.

Oh really Sakashi? XD. I think its going to happen today. This afternoon, when WarLords begins again.

Its not impossible as I thikn I just proved, it just takes intunitive, creativity, and most of all, the desire to create something that people will enjoy and take the time to actually, "ROleplay"

Absolutely right, Jay.

Warlords was the gem of the roleplays back in their first wave. It was the original, and it is just what we needed to revitalize the roleplaying atmosphere. All of us are trying really hard for it to be successful! ^^

I would join if they were literate and active, I haven't take a look v.v But I did lots of rping in my days (Gaia... Long story) But I wouldn't mind jumping in but I'm scared of jumping into running things and killing it v.v
